life of high school
Life Through High School
From the moment you first arrive at highschool your freshman year until you graduate and enter the real world, many students walk into this school not knowing what to do and leave knowing more than you began with.
Entering Senior for the first time was a struggle. We were all put in the big gym and explained how proud the teachers are of their former and current students. Then, we were separated in the classrooms by our last name to get our schedule. Soon we are off in small groups to find our first class every once in awhile, stopping at a locker and waiting until the student opens it a few times. The very next day you walk into a very crowded and loud hallways. Still new to the school students are still way too nervous to even ask an upperclassmen for help. You probably huddled in groups and stayed in class. You learn at second semester that you won't have all the same teachers all year round. As soon as the school year continues, you get more comfortable and slowly intermingling with every grade. The year flies by and your soon signing up for your sophmore year.
The second year of high school goes by very slowly. You have already been comfortable with your old teachers and now you are getting all new ones. SO convenient right? Some students are like a two year old at this time in their high school career. Some students are pushing boundaries and trying to get away with trouble. You’re finally use to the changing of teachers and some of you have ventured out and tried some sports. As the school year come to a close, you start to think about what you want to do your junior year.
Your junior year seems to go by at a slow pace. Every hour feels like a million seconds. This will be your final year of having more than two classes you need before you graduate. This year you can sign up for the ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery). FYI, You do not have to join the military after taking this test!!!! Also this year you will be taking the ACT test!!! You will also probably be getting college information sent to you. While it may not seem real, these are the first steps to graduating.
Senior year has finally come. You’re so excited to graduate, maybe go to college, and just live your life. You only need to take two classes per semester, English and a social studies class. This year you can mainly just goof off and relax. It's your final year so have some fun. This time of year most seniors get senioritis. Get involved in your school like doing sports or join a club. It's time to decide whether or not you're going to go to college. After this year is up you will probably be working full time and if you haven't already moved out of your parents house you might be moving into a home of your own.
Have fun during your high school career. You only have one chance to make it the best four years.
