School Spirit

As you walk into Senior High you may think of a very peaceful atmosphere. However there is a lot of bullying hidden within our walls. Bullying is not apparent to everyone.

What is bullying and why do we do it? I may not know that you bully but I need all I know is that needs to stop. All bullying does is just put victoms down or even lead them to horrible things such as  committing suicide. Most of the time the bully doesn't know what the victim has previously been through. Bullying is only going to cause them to worsen their state of mind. For a very long time schools have been trying to stop bullying. In fact, bullying has been going on since before I was born.Senior High started an online program to help victims. What this program does is allow victims of bullying to anonymously report bullying. Even bystanders can use this program. In turn this may causes students to drop out.

Instead of bullying, we should be nice and make people feel welcomed. The more we wrap our hands around this concept, the better our school environment be. We should be more focused on our school work and not on who we plan to pick on next. The more we focus on the serious aspects of our life, the better off we will be in the long run. We were raised us to follow our dreams so why are you ruining your dreams to do something bad. Yeah! You may say that bullying is your dream but think deeper and i know that you'll find your true dreams hidden deep down in you. You may be after a bad reputation so you feel rebellious, but one of us is unquestionably good. There is no point in wasting our time and energy to try to bring others down.

Do you ever think about what you are doing or who you are hurting? I bet that many of you will answer “I don't care what I do, it is not like I’m hurting me.” I hear this excuse way too many times so stop making the excuses and change your perspective of others. Your life may not be that great, well let me tell you a secret neither is mine. You won't see me walking around the halls and picking on others because I had a bad day. Instead you can catch me helping others. I will help student who needs lunch because it's their only meal . You don't have to go as far as I do but use your anger for good. Maybe help someone who is injured go up the stairs or help someone pick up their book.

Let's make our school a safe and welcoming place. We can start doing this by NOT picking on others just to make us feel great. You can feel Great by doing other things like making an A on one of your tests or by bringing up your grades. So let's start focusing on making the best of our high school career. You shouldn't have to worry if you'll get detention because you hurt someone. This being said, let’s go out and make Senior High the school that’s the Best of the West!
